Together in Communication CIC and Medway Community Healthcare are joining forces with Gillingham Football Club to run an evening course for new fathers, run by dads. The course is free and will run over six weeks, starting on Monday 13 May from 5.00pm to 7.30pm at the Priestfield Conference Centre.
Fathers must have a child aged between 0 and 5 years of age. Places are limited and will be given on a first come first serve basis.
The six-week course aims to:
• offer practical ways to work with common issues of fatherhood including relationships, conflict, tiredness and anxiety
• provide peer support from other local fathers, taking a practical look at the joys and pains of fatherhood
• teach tools and approaches including managing conflict constructively, relaxation techniques and speaking positively to your child
• explore the experience of being a father through group discussion
Simon Millard, from TIC CiC said, “TIC is delighted to be able to offer much needed support for new dads. The course has been made possible by a grant from the Big Lottery distributors ‘Awards for All’ and TIC are extremely grateful for their continued support. Thanks also to Medway Children's Centres and Medway Community Healthcare”
