We bring you the latest news from elsewhere in League One…BRISTOL CITY – John Pemberton has been appointed as Sean O’Driscoll’s new assistant after Richard O’Kelly quit his post and subsequently re-joined Walsall.
47-year-old Pemberton has previously worked alongside O’Driscoll at Nottingham Forest while another former Forest colleague Keith Burt has been promoted from chief scout to director of football at Ashton Gate.
CARLISLE UNITED – Young striker Alex Salmon has penned his first professional contract at Brunton Park following a two-year YTS spell at the club.
The Cumbrians will entertain Championship outfit Burnley in a pre-season friendly on Saturday July 20th.
COLCHESTER UNITED – The U’s have announced a ten game pre-season campaign for 2013-14 with the pick of the games, and the only two scheduled for the Weston Homes Community Stadium, being the visits of West Ham United on Tuesday July 16th and seven days later local rivals Ipswich Town.
CREWE ALEXANDRA – Young central defender Jon Guthrie has signed a new one-year deal at Gresty Road.
LEYTON ORIENT - The O’s are another club that will be mainly on the road in the build-up to the new season with just a visit from an Arsenal XI being the only fixture at the Matchroom Stadium on Tuesday July 30th.
MK DONS – Goalkeeper David Martin, brother of Gills left-back Joe, has signed a new two-year deal with the Dons, committing his future at the stadiummk until June 2015.
Gary MacKenzie and Jon Otsemobor have both had one-year extensions with the club triggered while Adam Chicksen, Dean Lewington and Ian McLoughlin have been offered new deals. Leaving the club though will be Frenchman Mathias Doumbe.
Karl Robinson’s team will heading out to a pre-season training camp in Dublin for the third year running where they will also play three, as yet unconfirmed, games.
OLDHAM ATHLETIC – Latics boss Lee Johnson has made his first summer acquisition with the signing of Jonson Clarke-Harris for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old striker has signed a one-year deal with Oldham having an option for a second year, subject to Football League and Football Association approval.
Oldham will be entertaining Championship Huddersfield Town in their build-up to the 2013-14 season. The friendly will take place at Boundary Park on Saturday July 27th.
PETERBOROUGH UNITED – Grant McCann and Mark Little who are both out of contract at London Road this summer have been offered new deals.
However four players have been made available for transfer following the club’s relegation to League One. Three of them are strikers, record signing Tyrone Barnett, Nicky Ajose and Emile Sinclair along with midfielder Daniel Kearns.
Boss Darren Ferguson also revealed that winger Tommy Rowe, who has 12 months remaining on his contract, could also leave the club.
Another departure looks like being central defender Gabriel Zakuani who has been reluctantly been placed on the transfer list at his own request by Posh after he rejected a new three-year contract.
PORT VALE – Of the six friendlies so far arranged by Micky Adams the best will see the visit of Nigel Clough’s Derby County to Vale Park on Tuesday July 16th.
ROTHERHAM UNITED – Experienced quartet Ian Sharps, Lionel Ainsworth, Nicky Hunt and Kayode Odejayi , who are all about to enter the final year of their contracts, have been told by Millers boss Steve Evans that they are free find a new club.

SHREWSBURY TOWN – Shrews versatile defender Jermaine Grandison could face six months on the sidelines after a specialist declared he needed surgery on a hip problem.
Boss Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire "He could be out for six months which is a severe blow as he's an integral part of what we'd planned. He could play as a central defender and right-back where he gets forward. If he's going to be out for that length of that time it will be a severe blow, but we'll get over it."
STEVENAGE – Goalkeeper Chris Day has signed a 12-month contract extension at the Lamex Stadium - the experienced 37-year-old made 19 appearances for Boro last season.
WALSALL – Former Saddler Richard O’Kelly has returned to the Banks’ Stadium as first-team coach just a week after the 56-year-old left his position as assistant to Sean O’Driscoll at Bristol City. He has previously worked alongside boss Dean Smith at the club.
The Saddlers will entertain Nottingham Forest as part of their pre-season campaign, the game will be on Tuesday July 23rd.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – Wolves have this week announced three away friendlies, they will be travelling to Wrexham (July 16), Barnsley (July 20) and Chesterfield (July 23).
