#FLASHBACKFRIDAY - ROTHERHAM

We look back at some of our most memorable games against Saturday's opponents

It's that time of week again as the Gills players prepare for their third game in the space of a week with a tricky trip to Rotherham awaiting Peter Taylor and his squad.

As with every Friday we have trawled through the archives and picked out our best encounters with the Millers.

Saturday December 8 2012 - Rotherham 1-2 Gillingham

Deon Burton struck twice as Gills managed to overcome a Rotherham side who dominated for long periods to clinch all three points at New York Stadium.

The former Millers striker was greeted to a number of boos from the home crowd, but silenced them after taking two difficult opportunities to give Martin Allen's side a hard fought win.

Tuesday February 8 2011 - Gillingham 3-1 Rotherham

Another brace, this time from Cody McDonald, steered the Gills to a comfortable win.

The striker, on loan from Norwich, netted twice in the first half with Nicky Law having levelled the scores up at 1-1, but Cody's second put the hosts ahead at the interval before Dennis Oli grabbed a third late on.

Saturday November 15 2008 - Gillingham 4-0 Rotherham

In a dominant display the Gills put four past Andy Warrington without reply.

Simon King began the goal scoring antics after netting after six minutes, and the score would remain 1-0 until the break.

However the hosts turned up the wick following their half time interval with Adam Miller, Garry Richards and Luis Cumbers all getting on the score sheet.

Saturday December 18 2004 - Gillingham 3-1 Rotherham

Four goals in the last 20 minutes brought this game to life, with Chris Hope grabbing the first after heading over goalkeeper Mike Pollitt to give Gills the lead.

Matt Jarvis came off the bench to net a second before Will Hoskins got one back, but seconds after the re-start Paulo Vernazza scored a spectacular own goal to ensure all three points went to Stan Ternent’s side.
