GILLS SIGN STRIKER

Peter Taylor has added a former Premier League striker to his playing squad

New Gills manager Peter Taylor has further strengthened his playing squad this morning with the signing of versatile forward Craig Fagan.

Fagan, who can play on the wing or as an out and out centre-forward, joins the Gills on contract until January 4 with a view to extending his deal for the remainder of the season.

He began his career with Birmingham City and enjoyed prolific success with Colchester United before following U’s manager Phil Parkinson to Hull City in 2005.

It was during his time with the Tigers that Craig first linked up with Peter Taylor who converted the player from a right winger into a centre-forward with impressive results, resulting in a £1million transfer to Derby County.

More recently Craig enjoyed a second spell with Hull and has also featured for Bradford City and Bury. He is eligible to play for the Gills this weekend against Sheffield United but is not able to play against Brackley in the FA Cup with Budweiser replay on Monday
