FEATHERBY ADVANCE IN SHOOT-OUT

Featherby become second school to qualify for next round

Featherby Junior School became the second team to advance to the next round of our half time shoot-out competition following a 4-3 win over Napier Primary on Saturday.

With the Rainham End in full voice during the club's first team match against MK Dons the youngsters took to the pitch in search of glory with the GFC Gems, Bayo Akinfenwa and Bradley Dack offering their full support.

The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal.

The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure, meaning they both had to think and act quickly.

After a competitive encounter it was Featherby who eventually prevailed 4-3, and they will now go on to play Twydall Primary School, who were winners of the first fixture during the Bradford game, in the next round against Port Vale on January 1.

Congratulations to Featherby and all members of their team, and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.
