MERCY MISSION 2013 UPDATE

We bring you our final update from the Take Heart Team’s trip to Sri Lanka

It’s been a week since the Take Heart team returned to the UK following their latest Mercy Mission to Galle, Sri Lanka, and today we received some fantastic news from our colleagues at the Karapitaya Hospital.

During this year’s mission, the volunteer Doctors, surgeons and support staff from the Evalina Children’s Hospital operated, on average, on three children every day, children with life-threatening heart conditions that would not survive without surgery.

When the Take Heart team left Sri Lanka last week, the majority of the children operated on were recovering well in intensive care, but this morning we received word from our colleagues at the Karapitaya Hospital, confirming that all our patients have made such good progress that they have all been discharged.

Needless to say everyone at Take Heart Mercy Mission is delighted with the news and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the generous supporters that helped make Mercy Mission 2013 possible, through your kind donations.
