Youth Coach Steve Lovell delivers his verdict following the 1-1 draw with Cambridge in the league
Cambridge v Gillingham (League) – 16.08.14It was another good game against Cambridge who we beat in the cup just a few days before. The match started well and we could have gone in front with a couple of chances from set plays, but their keeper was in great form and kept them in it.
We did take the lead on 25 minutes with a good move including Callum Emptage, Harry Stanard and Greg Cundle which led to a good header from Ross Ibbertson.
The second half was all one way but we couldn’t kill the game off and Cambridge equalized with a very good goal right at the end.
