GALBRAITH: I'M RARING TO GO

Danny Galbraith delivers his first interview since joining the Gills on a free transfer

Gills new signing Danny Galbraith says he is ready to get going and kick start his career.

The 24-year-old joined on a free transfer on Thursday and is available for selection ahead of Saturday’s game at Doncaster, and having trained with the first team for a couple of weeks he has been able to settle in and get to know the players.

Speaking to the club website he said: “In fairness the group of lads that are here have made it easy to settle.

“It’s been good to have the training to get to know them and I’ve been here a couple of weeks so I’m ready to go and it’s good to be here.

“I heard from the gaffer a week prior to coming, it was a bit out of the blue to be honest but the Manager is so experienced and knows the league inside out and I was dying to get a chance to play and I snapped his hand off to come in.”

Galbraith has had to endure some injury setbacks during his career but he now feels the worst days are behind him and he can now concentrate on getting back to his best.

He added: “That’s why I went across to Ireland because there was a Scottish Manager who had just moved and was desperate to have me and his view was to go for a year, play as many games as I could and then move on.

“That’s why I’m so glad to be in this position now as it’s worked out the way I planned and I’m now ready to kick start my career.”
