HALF-TIME SHOOT-OUT TO RETURN FOR NEW SEASON

Gillingham FC's ever popular half-time shoot-out competition will return for the 2014-15 season

The GFC community trust will once again be holding our annual half-time shoot-out tournament for 16 lucky schools in Kent during the 2014/15 season.

The schools will compete against one another in a knock out style competition during half time at selected home matches.

Each participant will also receive a ticket to watch the first team in action and will be eager to be crowned Champions at the end of the season.

On the day schools line up just outside the goalkeepers area and will be allowed seven seconds to successfully score a goal by either dribbling the ball or just taking a shot from the edge of the area.

Last season saw Featherby Junior School consistently convert from the spot week in week out and finally winning the competition in a close final against Davington Primary School at the last game of the season.

Both teams were awarded with medals and a trophy and posed for pictures with Gills very own Danny Kedwell whilst celebrating their victory.

Places in this season’s competition were offered to schools that we currently work with and spaces filled up in record time.

First team players Danny Kedwell and Adam Barrett recently revealed the fixtures for the schools participating this year with current Champions Featherby Junior School facing St. Margarets CE Junior School in the opening round on the 20th September when the Gills face Walsall.

We look to make this season's competition our most successful yet, ultimately aiming to make sure all the children taking part have a fun filled enjoyable day regardless of the end result.

Good luck to all the schools taking part!
