Barnsole Primary are the latest school to advance to the semi finals of the half-time shootout competition
During our recent home game against Crawley, the third quarter-final of our half-time shoot-out competition was played.Barnsole Primary School took on Maundene School for a place in one of our upcoming semi-finals.
The outfield players had seven seconds to score once the whistle had gone, from the edge of the D.
The outfield players can either shoot straight away or take the keeper on and score, however as soon as the whistle goes the goalkeepers can come off their line and close the outfield player down.
Once both schools were ready they lined up in the tunnel and didn’t have to wait long for the whistle to blow for half-time, and as soon as it did they walked out on the pitch like professionals and had a quick warm up with the footballs before the competition started.
Both teams gave a good performance in front of the Rainham End crowd, who enjoyed a thrilling quarter-final, with some fantastic saves from the keepers and some skilful goals, which saw Barnsole secure the victory and progress into the semi-finals.
A big thank you for both teams taking part and good luck to Barnsole Primary School in the semi-finals.
The half-time shoot-out competition will be back when St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary School take on Davington Primary School on the 22nd March when the Gills face Crewe Alexandra FC at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
