ANDY HESSENTHALER RETURNS TO GILLINGHAM FC AS ASSISTANT MANAGER

Andy Hessenthaler makes Gills comeback as Peter Taylor's Assistant Manager

Peter Taylor has announced that Andy Hessenthaler has re-joined the club as his Assistant Manager.

Hess, 48, returns to MEMS Priestfield Stadium having played in over 300 games for the club before enjoying two spells in charge as Manager before becoming Director of Football in the summer of 2012.

He spent the majority of last season scouting for Burnley, who were promoted to the Premier League under the management of Sean Dyche, and more recently took up a coaching role at Soccer Elite.

He teams up with Taylor once again having played under him at Dartford and during the Gills promotion winning 1999/2000 season.  He later went on to sign for Hull on loan as Peter guided the club to the Championship following back to back promotions.

Hessenthaler replaces John Schofield who left the club earlier this month.

You can see an exclusive interview with Hess on the official website shortly.
