END OF SEASON CELEBRATIONS

Gillingham FC hold annual Girls Centre of Excellence presenations at first team training ground

With the season at an end the squads from our Girls Centre of Excellence had the opportunity to attend the first team training ground for their end of season celebrations and presentations.

The evening gave the girls the chance to play in some relaxed and fun games on the pitches, with the coaches more than happy to join in and show off their honed skills.

Our Player’s Player award was also presented on the night, all girls had voted for whom they thought had made a significant contribution to the squad throughout the season  and deserved to be recognised for their efforts.

The respective winners were:

•    U17 – Chloe Cavenagh
•    U15 – Tamsin De Bunsen
•    U13 – Alice Bussey
•    U11 – Lois Robson
•    U9 – Tegan Whitten

Good luck to all our second year U17s who will be leaving us this summer to pursue football careers in the adult game. Some of the girls have been with us since they were eight years old and it’s fair to say a few tears were shed as the goodbyes were said.

We thank them for their all their hard work and commitment over the years and for being superb role models for the younger girls, you will be missed by everyone at the centre as you’ve all been fantastic and we wish you every success in the future.

And of course thank you to all the players, parents and our staff for their on-going  efforts, hard work and commitment that they’ve show throughout the season and for making the Centre such a success on and off the pitch, we couldn’t do it without you and we can’t thank you enough.
