STUART NELSON VOTED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Gills goalkeeper Stuart Nelson wins `Player of the Year` trophy following awards ceremony in Great Hall at MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Stuart Nelson has been voted Gillingham's 2013-14 `Player of the Year.`

The goalkeeper, who has pulled off a number of important saves for the Gills this season, has been an ever present between the sticks and has kept seven clean sheets in all competitions in the process.

In a close vote Nelson narrowly beat Cody McDonald for the coveted prize, with Bayo Akinfenwa taking third place.

Stuart was awarded his trophy by Peter Taylor, who earlier in the evening, was announced to be staying on as Manager for another two years.

The event took place in the Great Hall at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, with other award winners including Jake Hessenthaler and Leon Legge.
