Gillingham's new signing Adam Chicksen anxious to get going after joining on loan from Championship side Brighton
Adam Chicksen says he’s very happy to have joined Gillingham on loan and is looking forward to playing at Priestfield later today if picked.
The 23-year-old left back signed on a one month loan deal from Brighton on Friday morning and is eager to impress during his time at the club.
Speaking to Gills Player he said: “I’m very happy to have come in and hopefully I’ll do well – I’ve trained with the lads, they look good – they seem positive and upbeat and it seems like I’m coming in with a good group of players.
“I like to get forward and I love to defend, I’m a defender first and foremost but I like to get up and down the pitch – that’s what I offer and that’s what I’ll give.
“I can’t wait to get out in front of the fans and show them what I’m capable of.”
Adam revealed how quickly the move came together and saw a familiar face very quickly as he explained:
“I found out late afternoon on Thursday and it happened very quickly,” he said. “For me I need to come and prove why I should be in the Brighton team and that’s what I want to do.
“I was with Brennan [Dickenson] at Brighton, we’ve played a few times together and he’s a great talent so it would be a good partnership if I can play with him.
“Leyton Orient is a great game to come into; I’ve been on loan with Orient so that gives me an extra boost. I had a good spell there but hopefully we’ll get a good result.”
