GILLS SIGN ADAM CHICKSEN ON LOAN

Gillingham capture the signing of left back Adam Chicksen on a one month loan deal from Brighton

Gillingham have bolstered their defensive options with the capture of Brighton defender Adam Chicksen on a one month loan deal.

The left back, formerly of MK Dons, trained with the squad for the first time on Friday morning and is eligible to play in Saturday's home Sky Bet League One fixture against Leyton Orient.

The 23-year-old provides cover for the absent Joe Martin who was sent off in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Crawley Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and will now serve a three match ban.

Chicksen can play up to, and including, the Gills away league game against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday December 13.

The full back has featured eight times for Brighton this season, most recently in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Capital One Cup.

Prior to his move to the Amex he spent six years with the Dons and made 93 appearances, scoring three goals.

He will wear squad number 28 for the Gills.

Manager Peter Taylor said: "I'm delighted that Adam has decided to join us on loan. It's great for him to get some games and it's great for us to have such a good player."
