FEATHERBY ADVANCE TO HALF TIME SHOOTOUT FINAL

Featherby Junior School have advanced to the Final of the half time shootout

Last Saturday we were happy to welcome Featherby Junior School and St Margarets at Troy Town to MEMS Priestfield Stadium to take part in their half time shootout semi-final clash.

The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal.

The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle had been blown to put the striker under pressure leaving them no choice but to be smart and act fast.

Both teams had lined up in the tunnel full of confidence and hoping to get through to the final on the Gills last game of the season.

As the shootout got underway, Featherby started as they meant to go on with a stunning finish while Troy Town struggled to get into the game to begin with.

After missing their first penalty, St Margarets got back into the shootout with a drilled strike from distance. Both schools delivered a great display of football, however, on the day Featherby Junior School were able to clinch victory and secure their place in the Finals of the competition.

It was a great display from Troy Town with some fantastic strikes and a brilliant save from their keeper, unfortunately they fell just short of the mark in the end.

Thank you to both teams for their fantastic efforts and congratulations to Featherby on progressing through to the final which will take place on Sunday May 3.
