WOODLANDS JOIN FEATHERBY IN SHOOTOUT FINAL

Featherby will be joined by the Academy of Woodlands in the Final of our half time shootout competition

On Saturday we had the pleasure of welcoming The Academy of Woodlands and Brompton-Westbrook Primary School to MEMS Priestfield Stadium as they went head to head in their semi-final clash.

The players had just seven seconds to score from the edge of the 18 yard box, choosing to either dribble before shooting or to just strike one on goal from the whistle.

Both keepers were allowed to come off their line as soon as the whistle was blown to put the strikers under pressure forcing a quick decision in getting their shot away.

Both teams lined up in the tunnel beaming with confidence and excitement as they headed out onto the pitch.

The Academy Of Woodlands got the shootout off to a very strong start with a wonderful strike slotted just into the bottom corner of the goal. Brompton-Westbrook stepped up next to see a great strike saved by the opposition keeper.

Both teams went on to miss their next penalty each with two more brilliant saves this time from both keepers in-front of the Rainham End.

As the shootout progressed The Academy Of Woodlands went on to score two more brilliant efforts leaving Brompton-Westbrook under pressure.

As the shootout came to a close Brompton got a wonderful goal back to finish the tie at 3-1 to The Academy of Woodlands.

Everyone here at Priestfield would like to give a huge thank you to both teams for another fantastic shootout competition.

We look forward to welcoming The Academy of Woodlands back to Priestfield Stadium for their Final clash against Featherby Junior School on May 3rd when the Gills face Notts County.
