TRIO LEAVE PRIESTFIELD

Antonio German, Devante McKain and Josh Staunton have alll left Gillingham FC

Gillingham FC has, in the past 72 hours, mutually agreed to terminate the contracts of three players.

Antonio German, Devante McKain and Josh Staunton have all left MEMS Priestfield Stadium with immediate effect.

Devante and Josh were both informed recently that their contracts would not be renewed at the end of the season.

Antonio's two year deal expires this summer, and the two parties have agreed to part company to allow the striker a chance to secure a deal for next season.

Manager Justin Edinburgh said: "We would like to wish them all the very best in their future careers and we came to the agreement that it gave them the best opportunity to get their careers fixed.

"Hopefully that gives them a head start on any other players being released at the end of the season."

Devante McKain made three first team appearances for the club, one of which in the final match of the 2012/13 season away at Burton.

The other two came from the bench, his most recent outing coming in September's JPT game away at Stevenage where he was introduced at half time in place of Joe Martin.

German made 35 appearances for the club since signing permanently in the summer of 2013 - in that time he scored two goals before enjoying a short loan stint with Aldershot earlier this year.

Josh Staunton didn't make a first team appearance, however he was involved with the match squads on a number of occasions and captained the development team in a number of high profile games.

Gillingham FC would like to thank all three individuals for their efforts while at the club and we wish them well for the future.
