GAFFER: A COMPLETE TEAM PERFORMANCE

Gills boss praises team spirit following victory over Wigan

Justin Edinburgh hailed the collective effort of his players following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Wigan at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Bradley Dack bagged a brace to help propel Gillingham back to the top of League One, racking up his fifth goal in as many games.

Following the game the Manager said: “It was a complete team performance. As a collective we were very good today. I'm sure Bradley Dack will get the headlines as he got the two goals, but overall there wasn't a bad individual performance.

“There are no passengers in that group; there's a great spirit and they've got a real desire to better themselves.

“We knew Wigan would be buoyed by a good performance and result in midweek, and we've seen on the DVDs that they're better than their results had shown.

“We knew we'd be in for a game; they had slightly more possession, but we knew that from our game plan. But I thought we were always stretching them, we had some really good chances.

“The points return so far is fantastic. The group are earning the right to win games and if they continue to do that, who knows where that takes us.”
