Team News:

Doug Loft (calf) could make a return to action this weekend against his former club, however Cody McDonald (knee) won’t be fit for at least another week.

Aaron Morris picked up a knock against Sheffield United and may sit out, while the fitness of Emmanuel Osadebe will be assessed at the last minute.

As for the hosts defender Remie Streete (strain) is fighting to be fit, with former Gills loanee Ryan Inniss ready to step in should he not be available.

Ajay Leitch-Smith and Uche Ikpeazu will compete for a starting place in attack.

Manager Comments:

Justin Edinburgh – “It’s a tough one; they’ve had a good start with two clean sheets so it will be a tight game.

“I’m sure Ben and Doug would like to go back and put on a good performance to make sure we try and leave there with some points.”

Rob Page – "I keep saying to them that good teams and good players go and do it again, irrespective of who they are playing against.

"That is the level of performance we expect of each other. There will be games where you can't replicate it for whatever reason, but we will endeavour to try to match that. Hopefully we can do that on Saturday.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met at Vale Park on January 3, the first match under the `Gang of Four` following Peter Taylor’s departure as Manager.

In total the teams have met on 47 occasions. Port Vale edge the head to head statistics with 16 wins to Gillingham's 15. The other 16 games have been a draw.
