GILLINGHAM V BURTON ALBION

Sky Bet League One

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Saturday 11th December 2015

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Justin Edinburgh has no fresh injury or suspension concerns ahead of Burton’s visit to MEMS Priestfield Stadium with the game probably coming too early for Luke Norris (ankle) who returned to training with the first team this week.

As for Burton Darius Charles (hamstring) and Zeli Ismail (ankle) are ruled out of Saturday’s game. Robbie Weir meanwhile could return following a foot injury whilst Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is due to miss out.

Management Comments:

Justin Edinburgh – “The whole football club is excited for Saturday. It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve played at Priestfield and we’re keen to build on from a positive performance against Shrewsbury and continue our good form at home.”

“It will be the hardest game of the season so far. Burton are an experienced side with players who know each other’s game very well and they work well as a unit to win football matches. I was delighted with our performance against Shrewsbury and want us to use that momentum to provide an entertaining game for our fans.”

Nigel Clough - "We have an idea of our starting line up from taking to the staff on how to get the best out of the team and combat Gillingham as well.

"Gillingham play with a diamond which is a bit different and Bradley Dack, who plays in the hole, is a real threat for them, scores goals and is maybe one of the few players you have to look at individually."

Previous Meetings:

The two sides have met seven times in all competitions, six of those in the league and once in the FA Cup.

It’s been a mixed bag of results with Gills winning on four occasions and Burton Albion twice. The two teams have drawn on just one occasion.
