Brompton become the latest school to advance to the Quarter Finals of our popular half time shootout competition
We were delighted to welcome St William of Perth Catholic Primary School and Brompton Westbrook Primary School to Priestfield last weekend as they took part in the final first round fixture of the Half Time Shoot-Out Competition. The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal. The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.
Whilst the two teams lined up in the tunnel awaiting the Half Time whistle, both sides were full of confidence with one child heard saying ‘’I’m going to lob the keeper!’’
As the shoot-out got under way, it was clear to see some last minute nerves had crept in, with both teams opening shots being saved by the opposition goalkeeper.
Brompton quickly got on the score sheet firing home their second shot and ultimately being able to clinch victory in the competition netting three of their five spot kicks and secure their spot in the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
Thank you to both teams for their participation and congratulations to Brompton on their victory.
We look forward to welcoming Featherby Primary School and Halling Primary School back to Priestfield on Saturday 14th February as they take part in the first Quarter Finals of the tournament.
Our half time shootout competition is sponsored by Lawtech.
