Kent Women’s Cup disappointment for Gills Ladies
Gillingham Ladies were back on the road this week to face London Corinthians in their Quarter Final of the Kent Women’s Cup and were looking to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games.
London Corinthians made a good start to the game and opened the scoring half way through the first half, then five minutes before half time Gills Ladies had goalkeeper Sarah Quantrill sent off for bringing down the London Corinthians striker Danielle Harrison outside the box. Gills Ladies introduced Emma Tune for the second half and had a couple of good chances, but were unable to find the equaliser and their defence of the Kent Women’s Cup came to an end.
The next match sees Gills Ladies return to FA Women’s Premier League action and the team travel to Cambridge Utd Ladies on Sunday. Good luck girls.
Congratulations to Megan Maslak (who is on loan at Strike Force FC) scoring two goals to help the team progress to the Quarter Final stage of the Kent Women’s Plate. Well done Megan.
