The striker's goal against Shrewsbury was voted by Gills fans
Summer signing Jay Emmanuel-Thomas's goal against Shrewsbury Town has been voted as the August Goal of the Month by Gillingham supporters.
The first month of the season saw some spectacular goals for the Gills, but the QPR loanee's 30-yard effort took the prize, just ahead of Mark Byrne's equalising effort at Watford in the EFL Cup.
Emmanuel-Thomas had two goals shortlisted for the monthly accolade, with his first strike against Southend also among the top five.
Gills manager Justin Edinburgh was asked about the stunning strike in his post-match interview, and said: "It left his [Emmanuel-Thomas's] foot and I think it's still going through the sky now. It's what he's about. Them goals are special."

Both Bradley Dack and Cody McDonald have already scored good goals in September, but will they feature in next month's shortlist?
