Head coach Ady Pennock spoke to the press ahead of the Sky Bet League One fixture at MK Dons on Saturday
Gills head coach Ady Pennock says his side will give it their all on Saturday against MK Dons, with a win meaning they go on level points with their opponents in the Sky Bet League One table.Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday morning, Pennock also gave an update on injuries and praised Bournemouth loanee Harry Cornick after making his debut against Peterborough on Saturday.
Pennock on… injuries: “Wagstaff came off against Peterborough and that was a blow to us because he has been bright since I have been here.
“On top of that there is [Bradley] Garmston and [Chris [Herd]. They are the only three, but it is Thursdays morning, so we have a couple of days to go. Other than that everyone is fit, which is a big bonus for us. “
Pennock on… conceding late against Peterborough: “We were disappointed that we conceded the goal, but if you look at it the ball moved away from Tomas and into the side netting, so it was a very good strike.
“We have to move on and learn from our mistakes on Saturday. It is a huge game for us."
Pennock on… Harry Cornick’s debut: “I really thought he did well. He was bright. Last week he was finding his feet, but there is a lot more to come from Harry, that is for sure.
“He is positive and will take people on, so I am looking forward to what he brings over the next six games.”
Pennock on… Saturday’s game at MK Dons: “It is a massive game for us on Saturday, we know that, because of the situation we are in. Hopefully the result will kick us on for the following five games.
“We are going to give it our all on Saturday. We know we can get back-to-back wins, and we know we can win games; It is alright saying it, but it is a case of doing it.
“We can’t carry anyone on Saturday, we all have to turn up. If we get the three points it will give the whole squad a massive boost, and we will be level on points with them [MK Dons].”
