New signing at Priestfield.
Gillingham have signed striker Rhys Murphy on a deal until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has been on trial at Priestfield for a few weeks and has impressed sufficiently to earn a deal until May.
A trio of trialists have now signed for Gills with Navid Nasseri and Franck Moussa having also earned contracts.
Murphy began his career in the youth ranks at Arsenal before enjoying spells with Dagenham, Oldham and Forest Green. He has also played abroad, applying his trade in Holland for Sportclub Telstar during the 2012-13 season.
More recently Rhys has spent time on loan with Torquay United, scoring once in an eight-match spell.
In total the player has scored 37 goals in 150 professional appearances. He is eligible for selection ahead of Saturday’s game at Wigan and has been handed squad number 39.
On capturing his man Steve Lovell said: "I'm delighted to have Rhys on board. He will bring us something different to what we already have; he is a clever forward who has a really good eye for goal.
"I am sure he will be a great asset to us."
