Gills Captain has picked up an ankle ligament injury which will force him to sit out until the new campaign.
Gabriel Zakuani will be out for the rest of the season with an ankle ligament injury.
The 32-year-old centre-back hobbled off during the second half of Saturday’s defeat to Barnsley having tangled with striker Kieffer Moore.
The Gills Captain had a scan on Monday and will undergo on operation on Wednesday.
Manager Steve Lovell said: "There is no break but he has an operation on Wednesday which will see him miss the rest of the season which is a massive blow for all of us.
"He has been brilliant for us; he attacks everything and blocks everything and he will be missed. However, we need to get on with it and dig in as a group and get results."
We wish Gaby a speedy recovery.
