Alex Jakubiak has returned to Watford after being recalled by the Premier League club.
The club can confirm that Watford have recalled striker Alex Jakubiak from his loan spell at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
The 23-year-old scored seven times in 30 appearances during his time in Kent, including on the opening day of the season in a 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.
His last appearance came last weekend as a second half substitute against Rochdale; a game that ended 2-2 at Spotland.
Manager Steve Evans said: "During the last couple of weeks I’ve had several
chats regarding match minutes with Alex and Nigel Pearson at Watford.
“The summary was that I could not give any guarantees on this and Alex felt, with his contract up at the end of the season, it was essential for him.
“He is a quality player and will be a real asset for his next club. He goes from here with all our best wishes; I really want the kid to be successful. He is a real professional and a real credit to Watford."
Gillingham FC would like to thank Alex for his services while with the club and we wish him well for the future.
