Connor Ogilvie named Player of the Year

Former Spurs man scoops several awards during Gills online Player of the Year presentations.

Connor Ogilvie has been named Gillingham Football Club’s `Player of the Year` for the 2019/20 Sky Bet League 1 season.

The defender, 24, was notified of the news by Manager Steve Evans as part of a virtual awards ceremony which was available via the club’s YouTube channel on Friday evening. The former Tottenham Hotspur man won the main award, with Jack Tucker coming in second place. Max Ehmer was third.

Tucker, 20, was voted the `Young Player of the Season` with Connor Ogilvie’s late strike against Sunderland in December winning `Goal of the Season` ahead of Mika Mandron’s strike against the same team at the Stadium of Light in March.

Jack Bonham won the Chairman’s Cup, along with the Away Player of the Year while MEMS Power Generation, the club’s official title sponsor, named Connor Ogilvie as their Player of the Year.

Connor was also named `Players’ Player of the Year` and Stuart O’Keefe was on hand to announce the news.
