Mandron on the move.
Mikael Mandron has signed for Crewe Alexandra ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The 25-year-old French striker scored six times in 28 appearances for the Gills last season, including two against former club Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the final game before lockdown.
The forward was out of contract as of June 30 and has now agreed terms to join the Alex, who were promoted from League 2 earlier this year.
Mikael began his career with Sunderland and made his debut in the Premier League against Aston Villa in 2013 before spending loan spells with Fleetwood Town, Shrewsbury and Hartlepool respectively.
He joined Eastleigh in the summer of 2016 and impressed sufficiently to attract interest from Wigan who snapped up the striker in January the following year. However, after making just three appearances, he was on the move again just six months later, this time to Colchester United where he spent two seasons, scoring 12 goals prior to his switch to MEMS Priestfield Stadium.
He made his first appearance against Burton in a 2-1 home defeat, before netting his first goal against former club Colchester in the EFL Trophy in September.
Everyone at Gillingham Football Club would like to thank Mikael for his services and we wish him well for the future.
