Reaction from Gills assistant.
Gills assistant boss Paul Raynor spoke to the club's website following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Burton.
ASSESSMENT OF PERFORMANCE
"It was a very disappointing first 45. It was a good last 30 minutes but you're not going to win three points if you're only playing 30 minutes of games.
"You can't play in spells. The level of chances we missed in the second period is frightening, and if you don't put the ball in the back of the net you're never going to get any points but we shouldn't have left Burton with anything to hang on to, we shouldn't concede from a basic set piece.
"It was a poor first half performance; we never really got hold of the ball. Once we were on the front foot we created opportunities, but didn't take them."
TYREKE JOHNSON
“We need to get him on the ball; he had very little of it in the first half and when we did get him the ball he looked lively and put one or two decent crosses in. He’s got a bit of pace, we utilised him up the middle in the second period, trying to get off the big fella and make runs in behind.
“He looked lively, the fitter he gets and the more he gets to know us I think he’ll be a big asset.”
