The Gills boss says it is likely two 45-minute sides will play at Welling, with members of the youth team involved.
The Gills first-team will get their first taste of pre-season action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Welling at Park View Road (1pm).
It means fans will get their first glimpse of the club's new signings, including Ben Reeves, David Tutonda, Aaron Chapman and Danny Lloyd with several youth team players expected to make the trip too.
Robbie McKenzie has picked up a slight knock and won't be involved, however Gerald Sithole scored in last week's game against Chatham and could feature at some stage, along with Harvey Lintott.
We would encourage all Gillingham fans to purchase tickets in advance due to reduced capacity restrictions. Tickets may not be available at the gate.
Former Gills boss Steve Lovell will be in the opposition dugout; he took over as manager at Welling earlier this year.
Gills boss Steve Evans said: "We plan to give as many players 45 minutes each. We will mix it up a little bit; we are looking forward to it.
"We are very close to adding to the group in two or three areas, as close as we can be and that will run over the weekend."
We will have social media updates live from the ground with a match report to follow in the evening.
