Jordan Green signs for Gills

Former Bournemouth and Barnsley winger arrives at Gills ahead of pre-season friendly double header.

Gills have signed winger Jordan Green on a permanent deal following a successful trial spell.

The 27-year-old has spent the first few weeks of pre-season with the club and featured in the games against Folkestone, Dover and Luton. Manager Neil Harris has been impressed with his performances and Green has put pen to paper ahead of the two upcoming home friendlies against Portsmouth and Crystal Palace.

Green began his career in the academy at Fulham and spent five years at Craven Cottage before joining Banbury United. He then went on trial at Bournemouth and earned himself a one-year deal.

He went on loan to Newport during the 2015/16 season, scoring twice in 16 appearances. His contract at the Vitality Stadium expired in the summer of 2017 and he was soon on the move, this time to Yeovil where, over an 18-month spell, he made 68 appearances and netted eight times.

In January 2019 Barnsley acquired his services for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half year contract. Loan spells at Southend and Leyton Orient followed prior to signing a permanent deal with Dulwich Hamlet in August 2021.

Jordan could feature in tomorrow's game at home to Portsmouth. He is the second signing of the day, with Cheye Alexander having joined the club having spent last season at AFC Wimbledon.

A full interview will be on iFollow in the early part of next week. We officially welcome Jordan to the club.
