Gills sign Connor Mahoney on loan

Former Millwall winger joins the Gills on a season-long loan from Huddersfield Town.

Gillingham have clinched the signing of Connor Mahoney on a season-long loan deal from Huddersfield Town.

The 26-year-old, who started his career at Blackburn Rovers, made his professional debut while with Accrington Stanley in August 2013 before returning to Ewood Park a few months later, initially as part of the club's development setup.

He made his first appearance for Rovers in January 2014 in an FA Cup tie against Manchester City.

In the summer of 2017 the winger moved to Bournemouth on a four-year contract but, with first-team opportunities limited, Connor had loan spells at both Birmingham and Barnsley before agreeing a permanent move to Millwall in July 2019.

During his time at The Den he made 68 appearances and scored five goals.

Last summer, following the expiration of his contract, he joined Huddersfield Town on a two-year contract.

Connor has represented England at U17, U18 and U20 level.

We officially welcome Connor to the club.
