Neil Harris previews the trip to the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday.
After Gillingham took three points from Sutton on Tuesday to move to the top of the Sky Bet League Two table Neil Harris was asked by the press how he will celebrate.
After pausing for a moment, he calmly replied that he will go home and watch videos of Gills’ next opponent, Crawley Town.
In that answer was the perfect demonstration of what the Manager has been repeating like a mantra: ensure you always have a ‘win-the-next-game’ mentality.
“Winning the first three games has been a great achievement by the players, but that is now gone,” said the Gills boss. “We have a winning mentality and have found a way to win in all three games. We have achieved three 1-0 wins in different ways.
“Crawley will be a difficult game and we will have to prepare accordingly.
“The best thing for me is the personality, character and confidence that we have in the group, coupled with the discipline and the professionalism.
“I am not surprised that Crawley have started the season well and we know what to expect from the game on Saturday. We are looking forward to it.
“It will be a really good contest and a tight one, it might be open at times but we are comfortable with that.”
