Team News:
There are no fresh injury doubts following the defeat to Bradford City at Priestfield last weekend. However, Stephen Clemence has mentioned in his pre-match press conference that a couple of players are carrying slight knocks. Whilst the players in question weren’t named, they will continue to be assessed prior to the match but are not major injury concerns.
As for Forest Green, Troy Deeney has taken over as permanent manager and is likely to have the same squad available to him that were beaten in the FA cup by Blackpool earlier in the week.
Manager Comments:
Stephen Clemence: “Troy’s come in as Head Coach at Forest Green and will be trying to get his boys fired up. It doesn’t affect our plans too much, it’s about what we do. We have to go and take our game to them and get a good result.
“We know League Two is a difficult league this year. Anybody can beat anybody, but you can also get a good run going too. We’ll have to go there and get after them."
On building consistency:
“It’s been too up and down, there’s not really been an in-between for us. It’s something we’ve spoken about and that’s going to be the challenge to our boys going forward over the Christmas period.
Troy Deeney: "We need to puff our chests up, put our shoulders back and go to war."
