Gills sign Ashley Nadesan

Striker arrives at Priestfield from Crawley Town.

The club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Ashley Nadesan from Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old striker scored seven times in 48 appearances for the Red Devils last season and teams up with former teammates in Glenn Morris and Tom Nichols at Priestfield.

Nadesan began his career with Horley Town in the Combined Counties league before signing for Fleetwood Town in the summer of 2016 for an undisclosed fee. He made his professional debut in August the following year during a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at the Broadfield Stadium.

His first senior goal was scored while on loan at Carlisle later that same season, finding the back of the net twice in a 3-1 win over Barnet.

He signed a three-year deal with Crawley in the summer of 2019 and, in total, made 167 appearances for the club and scored 31 goals.

He could feature for Gills on Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge.

We officially welcome Ashley to the club and an interview will be on iFollow in the coming days.
