Goalkeeper Jake Turner has signed a new contract.
The club is delighted to announce that goalkeeper, Jake Turner, has put pen to paper on a new contract at ME7.
The 24-year-old arrived at Priestfield in the summer of 2022 and played 18 times in all competitions last season. This term he has kept five clean sheets in eight outings with Gills currently top of Sky Bet League 2.
The former Darlington and Morecambe loanee began his career in the youth ranks at Bolton Wanderers but made his first-team pro debut for Newcastle U21 in an EFL Trophy tie away at Macclesfield in September 2019.
After a number of loan spells, the last of which being with Colchester United in during the 2021/22 campaign, he chose to join the Gills following the expiration of his contract at St. James' Park last year.
On the new deal being signed, manager Neil Harris said: "We are delighted with Jake Turner extending his contract with the Football Club. Since coming in 15 months ago he has developed not just as a goalkeeper but as a character and personality in the changing room.
"We feel that over the course of the coming season he will keep improving and grow with the team."
