Gills midfielder says the target for next season has already been set.
After the Gills' eventful 2-2 draw with Doncaster, the curtain finally came down on a rollercoaster season and midfield-schemer Jonny Williams said the objective is clear for next season.
The Welshman insists that the goal is for more consistency and at least a place in the play-off pack, and he confirmed that the players are desperate to fulfill the fans' dreams.
"We are hungry as a group and it is up to us as players and staff to give the fans what they want to see on a consistent basis," he said. "We will be doing everything we can to achieve that.
"We have shown that we have the belief that we can get back into games when we have fallen behind which we didn't have. We have that belief in the team that we can respond to setbacks and that is a great sign.
"It has been an inconsistent season, that is the word we keep hearing. It is down to us players to give the fans something to cheer about.
"I have really enjoyed playing for the Gills, it has meant a lot to me. My body is doing well and I have played a lot of games, so that is a positive for me.
"There is a real sense of hunger from the players. We do feel like we have underachieved as a group and we are hungry to come back and show people what we can do next year."
