Andrews | "When crosses come in I will be on the end of them"

Gills new recruit excited with the challenges ahead.

Imposing hitman Josh Andrews has swapped one blue shirt for another after transferring from Championship side Birmingham to Gillingham Football Club.

The 6ft 5in attacker, check out the player's reveal video with Bradley Galinson to get an understanding of his towering presence, is likely to be a huge asset to the Gills attack as Clemence's men aim to make a push for the play-off places.

"I am obviously delighted," said Andrews on his arrival. "The club clearly has ambitions and a pathway forward and I am on board with it. I'm looking forward to getting started.

"You want to join a club with a plan and this club clearly has one. I am buzzing to get started and I just can't wait.

"I have spent 15 years at Birmingham, which seems crazy. I have always been a fan of Birmingham, they were my boyhood club and I loved every second there. They have developed me since a young boy and made me the player I am today. I am a Blues fan, they are a great club and they have served me very well.

"The stand-out player I have played with is Jude Bellingham. Getting to see him go through the academy and play with him for many years and see what he has gone on to achieve is humbling.

"The Gillingham fans can expect me, first and foremost, to give 100 percent in the shirt, that is non-negotiable. I am a big imposing striker, 6ft 5in, so you can expect a target man who can take care of the ball. When crosses come into the box, I will be on the end of them.

"I will also be able to provide other things. I have a decent turn of pace and will test defenders. I back myself technically to be able to do things that not all other big strikers can do."

Everyone at ME7 would like to extend Josh a warm welcome and we wish him all the best during his time here.
