Stephen Clemence has added a striker to his squad with the capture of Josh Walker on loan.
Gills have completed the signing of Josh Walker on loan from Burton Albion until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old striker becomes the second signing under Stephen Clemence in the January window with Remeao Hutton having joined permanently from Swindon Town last week.
Walker began his career in the youth ranks at both Tottenham and Fulham, going on to feature several times in Premier League 2, before signing for non-league Hendon, via a loan spell at Wealdstone, in the summer of 2017.
During his one and only season at Avenue Park Stadium the striker netted 17 goals in 42 appearances, alerting the attentions of Barnet who signed the player in the summer of 2018.
Josh spent three seasons at the Hive, netting 13 times in 58 appearances, before joining Dagenham & Redbridge in July 2021. Over an 18-month spell he scored 23 times in 60 appearances with Burton Albion then paying an undisclosed fee for his services in February of 2023.
Walker has featured 35 times for the Brewers, scoring three times.
He could make his debut away to MK Dons this weekend.
On signing his loan deal, Josh said: "I am delighted to be here. I heard about the interest a couple of days ago and it was a no brainer for me.
"I like to get off the shoulder, I can finish with both feet, I'm quick. I'm ready to go."
Head Coach, Stephen Clemence, added: "We are delighted to have secured Josh's signature.
"We look forward to working with him."
* The move is subject to EFL ratification. A full interview with the player will appear on iFollow tomorrow morning.
