Friendly at Roots Hall confirmed.
Gillingham will play Southend United in a pre-season friendly at Roots Hall on Saturday July 27.
This is the latest fixture to be confirmed by Mark Bonner with games against Watford and Dartford having already been announced.
Southend, under the management of former Gills midfielder Kevin Maher, finished ninth in the National League last season.
The two clubs last met in a competitive fixture in September 2020 when a solitary goal from Connor Ogilvie was enough for Gills to prevail in the opening round of the EFL Cup, despite Ryan Jackson being sent off just before the hour mark.
Kick-Off has been set for 1pm.
Ticket information for the game in July will be released in due course.
