The club is inviting local grassroots clubs to take part in the inaugural Gills Foundation Community Cup taking place at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on the hallowed turf on Saturday May 17, 2025.
The tournament will be for teams within the following age groups (based on the 2024/25 season): U8, U9, U10, U11. The playing format of the tournament will guarantee teams 75 minutes of playing time with 5 x 15-minute matches, with teams progressing to the cup or plate semi finals / finals. The format ensures all teams get the same playing experience inside the stadium.
Spectators will also be able to enjoy the experience by watching from the comfort of the stands, with plenty of food and drinks on offer.
Shannon Galinson commented: "We’ve been developing our community programme over the past six months and launching the Community Cup is a great example of our ambitions.
"We hope to create some fantastic memories for so many young players and all funds raised from the tournament will be supporting the work of our newly formed Gillingham FC Foundation. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
