Morris | "We had a right go"

Morris Grimsby

Glenn Morris remained positive despite Grimsby's last-gasp equaliser denying Gillingham all three points at Blundell Park on Tuesday night.

Danny Rose's strike cancelled out Doug Tharme's first-half own goal as the Gills had to settle for just a point.

Morris, who had made an incredible save seconds beforehand, gave credit where it was due to the opposition, but knows that the team cannot feel sorry for themselves as they prepare to host Notts County.

Discussing the game and looking ahead...

Obviously, you feel gutted now. It's a game where we feel like we dominated, and they hardly laid a glove on us the whole game. The last five minutes were a bit manic, and they had a couple of opportunities, and you're just praying to hang on, but it just wasn't to be.

You cannot fault the effort of the boys and the whole squad. We had a right go, and on another day, we win it.

We have to take the positives because we were really good in spells. We showed what we can do. We had a couple of opportunities where I'm not sure how they haven't gone in. We have had a really good performance, and we can't be too disappointed with everything. At the minute, it feels really bad, but we have got to pick ourselves up and get going for Saturday.

His own performance...

I didn't have a lot to do. You're waiting to be ready for something to come along, and it did, and I managed to save it. They took their goal really well, and it's a great finish. We had 30 more seconds. It's a bit gutting.

We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We had the opportunities in the game to score more, and we didn't.

On Sam Gale...

He did brilliantly. He's a grafter and he does really try. He put his body on the line, and you could see that he was struggling when he came off. He did too much, but that's Sam, that's what he does.
