Robbie McKenzie nominated for Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month

Morecambe Goal

Robbie McKenzie's strike against Walsall at the Bescot Stadium has been nomianted for the February Sky Bet League 2 Goal of the Month award for February.

The 26-year-old netted Gills equalizer against the Saddlers, ensuring John Coleman's men left the stadium with a deserved point. Robbie's effort has already won the club's Goal of the Month competition.

All nominees for the award are as follows:

David McGoldrick – Gillingham v NOTTS COUNTY – 1st February

Back-lift? What back-lift? McGoldrick’s technique was perfection as he sprinted onto a stray pass and then, without breaking stride, dinked a delightful lob over home keeper Glenn Morris.

Joel Cotterill – SWINDON TOWN v Port Vale – 8th February

There was nothing complicated about Cotterill’s 25-yarder against Port Vale, controlling the ball with one touch, then striking it hard, true and arrow-straight under the bar with his second.

Robbie McKenzie – Walsall v GILLINGHAM – 11th February

There is something extra thrilling about a shot that clips the underside of the bar on its way into the net, especially when it travels as far and quickly as McKenzie’s exquisitely-timed strike did.

Alex Pattison – BRADFORD CITY v Accrington Stanley - 11th February

If Pattison considered his options as a corner was fed out to him, he did so swiftly and chose a hammerhead of a shot that appeared to be still gathering pace as it struck the back of the net.
