PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2014

Award winners announced from our end of season dinner/dance at MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Gillingham FC held our annual `Player of the Year` awards on Saturday evening, with over 360 people coming together to celebrate the club's successes in its first season back in Sky Bet League One.

On the evening eight awards were presented, and in addition, Chairman Paul Scally announced that Peter Taylor has agreed to stay on as Manager for the next two years.

It was also revealed that MEMS Power Generation will continue their relationship with the club, having agreed to remain as Gills main sponsor for another four seasons.

Following a three course meal the Chairman and compere Peter Lloyd announced the winners of the various trophies, and these are listed below.

Supporters' Player of the Year - Stuart Nelson
Players' Player of the Year - Cody McDonald
Young Player of the Year - Jake Hessenthaler
MEMS Player of the Year - Bayo Akinfenwa
Away Player of the Year - Stuart Nelson
Goal of the Season - Jake Hessenthaler
The Chairman's Cup - Leon Legge
Elliott Scally Trophy - John Carter

Following the ceremony a live band and disco started up, with proceedings coming to an end at 1am.
