Stephen Clemence says his team are in a good place, but will need to be fully focused against MK Dons on Saturday.
Gills boss Stephen Clemence says he is anticipating a stern test this weekend against MK Dons but is confident that his players will be able to stand up strong against a team renowned for possession-based football.
The Gills Head Coach knows that his counterpart Mike Williamson will ensure a difficult day awaits at MK Stadium, but after Gillingham's three wins and a draw in their last four matches, Clemence pointed out that his men are in pretty good form themselves.
"The group are in a good place," said Clemence. "Four league games unbeaten, the players should be looking forward to the game at the weekend.
"I have seen a lot of MK Dons, I saw them earlier in the season before I came to Gillingham, I saw them playing at Crewe near my home, and they have some really good players and they have added to that as well.
"They have had an identity at the football club for a long, long time. The boys will be prepared and will know what to expect.
"When we have the ball we have to try and hurt them. We have good players at the football club and we are in decent form. If we play like we did against Accrington Stanley and the games before that then we will have a real chance. I have full confidence in the boys to give it a good go.
"MK Dons have a great stadium and it is a great stage, so my players should be looking forward to it. We have a game plan and we have been putting it in place this week. We will have to be intelligent. They are in good form but so are we. It should be a good game."
