Former Tranmere striker arrives at Priestfield.
Mark Bonner has made his first signing as Gills Manager with the capture of striker Elliott Nevitt.
The 27-year-old, who was top scorer at Crewe Alexandra last season, has turned down a new deal at the Mornflake Stadium to move to Kent.
In 2023/24 the forward netted 18 times in 52 appearances in all competitions and played in Sunday's Sky Bet League 2 Play-Off Final where Crewe were beaten by Crawley Town.
He began his career in non-league and played for Buscough and the City of Liverpool before making his professional debut for Tranmere Rovers in an EFL Cup tie away to Oldham. He scored on his first outing in a 2-2 draw.
A further seven goals followed during the 2021/22 season, and he scored a further six early the following season before joining Crewe for an undisclosed fee in January of 2023.
On getting his man, Manager Mark Bonner said: "Elliott has shown his intent agreeing to join us so soon after the conclusion of his season and is an excellent start to our summer recruitment.
"We have signed a striker who is coming off the back of a really successful campaign and gives us someone who has shown consistent ability to cause defenders problems with his strength, mobility and work ethic. He has scored, and can score goals, in a variety of ways and is an outstanding addition to our team.
"I’m excited to work with him; I have been impressed by his ambition and drive in the time we’ve spent together, and in his actions to be joining us."
Elliott added: "I am very happy and I can't wait to get started. Once I knew a deal could be done we got it done.
"I am a player that gives everything, I give my all, I like to score goals and I believe in myself."
